FreeFrom Eating Out Awards
Judging Criteria
Entries for all Categories except Food Manufactured for Food service will be judged in four stages.
Stage 1. The judges will use the completed entry forms to assess how well the establishment has understood the requirements of the regulations, and how well they are implementing them in their protocols and their training.
Stage 2. The judges will draw up a shortlist of establishments who are well on the way to being award winners and a further list of potential award winners.
This shortlist will be published in early October and
all those shortlisted will be sent a 'shortlisted' logo.
Stage 3. The potential award winners will be visited, incognito, by our judges both to ensure that the protocols that they described in their entry form are being put into practice – and to asses the the quality of their food.
Stage 4. On the basis of all of our judges’ findings, Gold, silver and Bronze awards will be made. These will be presented at the Food Matters Live Event in November 2017 at Excel in London.
Food Manufactured for Food Service
Foods manufactured for food service, will be judged early in September by a panel of independent judges at our London headquarters, following exactly the same protocols as are used for the FreeFrom Food Awards. A shortlist will be published in early October 2016 and a logo sent to all shortlisted entrants, as for the FreeFrom Food Awards.
Judges for the FreeFrom Eating Out Awards include allergy sufferers, coeliacs and food professionals who work with freefrom food and those who choose to eat it.
