Categories 2016

 

  • Entry for the 2016 awards will open on Wednesday June 15th.
  • Entry closes on:
    Tuesday 15th September, apart from
    * Category 7 (Schools & Colleges) which closes on 30th September
    * Category 8 (Food manufactured for food service) which closes on 24th July.
  • Entries which are submitted before the 15th July (Categories 1-7) and 30th June (Category 8) will receive a 10% discount on their entry fees.
  • A shortlist will be published in late October.
  • The presentation of the awards will take place at Food Matters Live, in November.
  • The Awards will be showcased at the Allergy & FreeFrom Show over 2016 in Glasgow, Berlin, at Olympia and in Liverpool.

• Cost of entry:

We offer a 10% discount to any entrant to categories 1–7 who completes their entry form and pays their entry fee before 15th July; category 8entrants will need to complete their entry by 30th June to get their 10% discount.

• Listing on Can I Eat There?

All entrants will get a full and FREE listing in the new Can I Eat There? directory; outlets shortlisted in the awards will get a FREE premium listing on the site.

 

1. Cafés & teashops
Sponsored for 2016 by Can I Eat There?
  • Independent cafés and teashops
  • Coffee house chains

Entry criteria:
The outlet must offer a minimum of one gluten-free and one dairy and/or egg free savoury dish and one gluten-free and one dairy and/or egg free sweet dish.

Entry fees:
Individual cafés and teashops: £45 + VAT
Coffee & teashop chains with more than 3 outlets: £125 + VAT

 

2. Fish & Chip shops
The outlet must offer a minimum of one gluten-free 'day' per week.

Entry fees:   £25 + VAT

3. Pubs and pub restaurants

Entry criteria:
The outlet must offer a minimum of three gluten-free and two dairy and/or egg free savoury dishes and two gluten-free and two dairy and/or egg free sweet dishes.

Entry fees:
Individual pubs & pub restaurants: £55 + VAT
Pub chains with more than 3 outlets: £125 + VAT


4. Restaurants

  • Independent restaurants
  • Restaurant chains
Entry criteria:

The outlet must offer a minimum of three gluten-free and two dairy & egg free starters, three gluten-free and two dairy and/or egg free savoury dishes and three gluten-free and two dairy and/or egg free sweet dishes.
Entry fees:

Individual restaurants: £55 + VAT
Restaurant chains with more than 3 outlets: £125 + VAT


5. Corporate hospitality and catering – venues and outside catering
Entry criteria:
The organisation must offer a minimum of three gluten-free and two dairy & egg free starters, three gluten-free and two dairy and/or egg free savoury dishes and three gluten-free and two dairy and/or egg free sweet dishes for any function.

Entry fees:   
Organisations with 4 full-time employees or fewer: £55 + VAT
Organisations with more than 4 full-time employees: £125 + VAT


6. Hotels and guest houses
Sponsored for 2016 by Thomas Ridley Food Service
  • B&Bs, Guest houses and independent hotels
  • Hotel chains
Entry criteria:
The outlet must offer a minimum of three gluten-free and two dairy & egg free starters, three gluten-free and two dairy and/or egg free savoury dishes and three gluten-free and two dairy and/or egg free sweet dishes – plus two gluten-free and two dairy-free breakfast options.

Entry fees:

B&Bs / guest houses with 4 rooms or less: £35 + VAT
Individual guest houses/hotels with maximum two outlets: £55 + VAT
Hotel chains with 3 or more outlets: £125 + VAT


7. Schools, colleges and universities
Sponsored for 2016 by Thomas Ridley Food Service
Entry criteria:
The School or college must offer a reasonable choice of gluten, dairy and egg free savoury and sweet dishes every day and have an emergency protocol for dealing with allergic reactions.

Entry fees:
Schools: free of charge
University & college restaurants and cafés: £55 + VAT

NB. This category closes on 30th September.

8. Foods manufactured for food service

Entry criteria:
To qualify for this category, all entries must be free of at least one of the main major allergens – wheat/gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, soya and sulphites.

Entry fees:
Companies with 3 or fewer employees: £90 per product + VAT
Companies with over 3 employees: £125 per product + VAT
