'Freefrom' food, already a major player in the retail sector, is now being brought into sharp focus for caterers. Why? Because after December 2014 all food service outlets will be required to provide customers with information about any of the major allergens in the food they serve.

Since they were launched in 2008, the FreeFrom Food Awards have established a standard of excellence in the retail trade that has inspired manufacturers – and provided consumers with a greatly valued mark of quality and reliability.

Now the same team is turning its attention to food service by launching the FreeFrom Eating Out Awards in May 2014.
